Nov 2024. A visitor from the UK. I've been to Sheung Shui a number of times over the yrs, and the Victoria Harbour Restaurant (San Fung Avenue) is my favourite for authentic Cantonese food. A 10 min walk from the train station. There are 2 restaurants that share the building, the Victoria Harbour is on the 2nd floor, accessed via escalators. On arrival you are given a tag number, and await for it to come up on the big screen that your table is ready. Using Google Translate I happily navigated through the Chinese only order slips. You mark how many of each dish on the paper slips and the table staff take them away to place orders to the kitchen. Dishes arrive steaming hot. Hubby even ordered the chickens feet, and loved them! Atmosphere: not too noisy of chatter. Temperature: not chilly, just right. Clean and brightly lit.

Very little wait, good variety. Quick service and seated for a large group of people. There were a odd dimsum I would say was too salty, but maybe personal preference.

A great place for getting a real Hong Kong, Yum Cha experience. Delicious Dim Sum even though a tad on the pricey side. Expect to wait 15-30min if going during peak times with a party more than 3-4 people. Fairly noisey as to be expected from a Yum Cha house, with the ambient sound of the elderly Hong Kong locals speaking in Cantonese. Unsure whether or not they have an English menu but they most likely do upon request. The ordering system is a tick and adding a number inside a box next to the desired product on sheets of paper and handing it to the staff walking around the area.

This place is quite crowded and hilarious. The dim sum here is excellent and here are my favorites: Siu long bao Chicken feet Beef tribe

Victoria Harbour is a very popular place for dim sum at all hours and days. We had a huge group this time so the wait was not long for a supersized table. We ordered their signature roast goose and it did not disappoint. Everything else lived up to its standards. But ambiance is not very nice, there are some cleanliness issues, we were seated in an area with lots of chairs stacked up. It is a neighbourhood restaurant so the good food would have to be the highlight.

Lovely food but rude and abrasive waiters. Not cheap either but it was Christmas day in HK for what its worth...
